How A Private Developer Turned Around A Once-Sleepy Community
Back in 1960, Coral Ridge Properties (CRP) began to steadily acquire this large tract of land and began to envision a master-planned community which prides itself in retaining traditional Southern living as the "City in the Country".
The CRP investment resulted in the creation of a efficient, master-planned community which drew thousands of residents at incredible in the 80s and 90s. Many young families and single folk were attracted by the city's innovative use of technology in its homes and services, and also to enjoy all that the place had to offer, from exceptional educational facilities, top-rated athletic facilities and idyllic, natural surroundings to raise their families.
Efficient Local Governance Helps Keep The City In Good Shape
The famous "City in the Country" aimed at creating a fully-functioning local government that served its residents with "customer-focus" and "quality-oriented" ideals. As the years drew by, the now independent city experienced an explosive growth rate that even they did not envision nor knew how to handle in regards to its city services.
The city’s government is comprised of a five-member City Commission, which area all nonpartisan and elected at large with elections held every 2 years. As a means of achieving its goal of a well-kept, all-around community, the city imposed a Total Quality Management plan to improve and update its services and operations, as well as and create a government system of services that created results in the "unconventional" way of a corporation.
The plan’s effects made the city earn accolades in 1997, with the Governor's "Sterling Award", the "Neighborhood of the Year" award from Neighborhoods USA in 1998, and in 2004 also for the first time recieved the "Florida City of Excellence Designation" by the Florida League of Cities. The city has been triumphant in providing excellent public service to its residents, with full online city services for permits, licenses and payments. Another wonderful innovation, is its "City Hall in The Mall" providing residents the convenience of service to their questions and concerns from the Coral Square Mall.
The city of Coral Springs is considered by many within the state, and outside, to be a truly wonderful place to call home, with the area now having an inventory of over a thousand condo units. This means that prospective home buyers will be able to find the perfect match for their housing needs.
In a city filled with lush open spaces and tree lined streets, there are lots of communities to choose from, ranging Parkland, Coconut Creek, Deerfield Beach or Margate and others. The townhomes offered here also provide a great alternative to those who do not wish to live in a condo, but still has an association that provides the exterior upkeep, and at prices that are much lower than single-family dwellings.
