Mark Michael Ferrer :: Blog :: Things to Ask Yourself When Visiting Miami Luxury Homes

June 13, 2010

The hardest part of buying Miami luxury homes is probably making the choice. There are simply a myriad of consideration that surrounds the process of buying luxury properties. They are certainly different from other types of real estate properties. But to help you eventually get to the finish line, here are some questions to ask yourself when visiting prospective homes.

Is the neighborhood good?

When it comes to buying homes, it should be a package deal. It is not enough for the Miami luxury homes to be good; the neighborhood should be as well. This is the place where you are planning to live in the next five to ten years or even more. It only follows that the neighborhood should be a place where you can see yourself enjoying homeownership. Also, make sure that the community is not only aesthetically pleasing, but functional and advantageous as well.

Does the home offer most, if not all, of the things you need?

The good thing about Miami luxury homes is that many, if not all of them, have something that buyers want, but not all the time. Even if you have a good knowledge of what you want from the house, you should always be ready to sacrifice some of those.

These homes are far from perfect. There might be one property that offers the number of square-footage you want but not the ideal location. At the same time, there might a home in an excellent location but lacks the necessary square-footage. In this case, you should know your priorities and determine which you can sacrifice.

Does it need renovations and updates?

Many buyers prefer to recondition or update their homes. Walkthroughs are the best time to think about such plans. You have to be careful, though, to be out of earshot of the seller since many of them are particularly sensitive about people changing the way their homes look. Keep your plans to yourself and reassess them once you get home.

Is it worth the asking price?

Finally, you should determine if the property is worth the price. Miami luxury homes are expensive, to say the least. It’s only natural to seek the best value for your dollar. All the necessary factors that make a home excellent and sought-after should be present in order to justify the asking price. This will also help you determine just how much entry-level offer amount you can make.
