Mark Michael Ferrer :: Blog :: Miami Real Estate Tips for Buyers – Checking the Neighborhood

February 27, 2010

Regardless of your motivation to purchase a Miami real estate home, you should always remember that location is everything. Especially since you are planning to live in the house for the coming years, not only should it be well-maintained and attractive, but located in an excellent area as well. There are several factors that can make an area attractive. Yet while you may not see all of them in one specific location, it pays to add them to your list of standards.

You also need to remember that parts of buying a Miami real estate home are your neighbors. You need to make sure that your future neighbors are not going to be problematic. One excellent way to do this is to drive around the area during different times of day. This way, you'll exactly get the feel of what it is like to live in the area.

Schools

If you are moving in and planning to raise kids, you need to make sure that the schools are acceptable, or even present. This is also true if you already have kids. It also helps that the Miami real estate home is located near the schools to save a lot of time from transportation.

You should also try and visit the schools to check the curriculum as well as the personnel. And another excellent way to get an insider look is to talk to other parents to get their opinion on the school.

Emergencies

Aside from schools, you also have to check for public amenities, especially those you can contact during emergencies. Hospitals, police force and a fire brigade should be present. But with a city as big as Miami, you can rest assured that these things and more are easily available. You have to make sure, however, that some of these stations are accessible.

Fun and recreation

Of course, you will have to find time for you and your family once you get settled in your Miami real estate home. Check the local attractions and see if there are parks and other recreational areas near your neighborhood. If your choice of location is near the beach, however, there is no doubt that you'll have a shortage of fun and recreation. But it’s still helpful to look for other fun activities that you can do at the area once you move in to your new home.
